Historic Japanese Garden

Since its closure for a year-long renovation on April 4, 2011, the historic 9acre Japanese Garden at the Huntington Library welcomes a new addition- a ceremonial teahouse donated by the Pasadena Buddhist Temple. The teahouse is called the Arbor of Pure Breeze, restored in Kyoto, Japan and then shipped back to the U.S., had been rebuit on a picturesque ridge on th Southwest side of the Japanese Garden surrounded by authentic tea garden.
