Rye Hudak's Works

Rye of Level 5 Design is probably one of the first few J-Wall applicators in the West Coast. He has over 6 years of experience working with Wara Juraku and the other sand-based materials.
Perfect ambience~
See how the wall is not just done in one way? It just takes some creativity and artistic skills to create a wabi sabi beautiful wall.
Like I said before, application can be done on any kind of architecture, any room, any theme. We have so many colors and textures to choose from~
Even ceilings can be applied.
Bling bling feature wall~
Wara Juraku will always be one of my favorite series after Wabi

Reintroducing Wara Juraku!!!

We proudly reintroduces Wara Juraku! For the past 20 years, we have been promoting Wara Juraku, and after further improvement we now reintroduce Wara Juraku in both Interior (6 colors) and Exterior series(12 colors). Wabi will go side by side with Wara Juraku, although the latter does not contain diatomite earth.

Wara Juraku is composed of juraku sand, special clay and straw. Unlike Wabi, which comes with separate color pack, the straw in Wara Juraku will not be tinted by the color pack. We only introduce traditional colors of Wara Juraku.

Wara Juraku interior comes does not come with separate bonding emulsion, so simply add water and apply.

Features:
* Natural straw in the material creates a refined texture and calm atmosphere.
* Like other J-Wall series, it has excellent incombustibility and meet fire resistant quality required by Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS A 6909)
* No discoloration
* Breathing properties as condensation is rare
* Contains ceramics which emit far infra-red rays - good for health
* Like other J-Wall it also produces seamless wall surface, even on a larger surface
Wara Juraku EX is another wonderful series for exterior walls, but we recommend to apply on walls with overhanging roofs.

Weight Per bag for Wara Juraku Interior: 5.5KG (covers approximately 35 sq.ft.)
Weight Per bag for Wara Juraku Exterior: 7.0KG (covers approximately 35 sq.ft.)

We love Wara Juraku!

Wabi #3 - JyoJyo

Initially, we thought this color was quite dark, but it turned out pretty neat, especially with the wara-laced effect. For those of you still wondering what wara is, and have not read thoroughly our website www.japanesewall.com.... wara = straw. Mind you, it is not just ordinary straw bale. It is recycled rice stalk straw which have been treated so that we can stay peace of mind from bugs! No kidding...

By the way, this is also a Juraku color. Try it, and you will love it. I suggest adding another half sac of wara#7 (wabi straw size).

May Spotlight on WABI

Wabi is one of the most sought after series as it is a Juraku series with wara (straw). Composed of sand, diatomite earth and straw, the effect is a straw laced earthy and neutral look wall which enhances the Zen ambiance of the room.

This is an exciting material which everyone should use for their homes and offices, even to a small area. The positive properties of Wabi are for its ability to control humidity, high fire-resistance, prevent condensation, NON-VOC, NON-formaldehyde, and it can also disintegrate odor and formaldehyde. Humidity control level is around 109.7g/m2

Comes in 15 neutral colors and earthy tones, Wabi is a truly meditative piece of art. I also suggest adding extra sachet of wara straw (40g to one bag of dry material) during mixing process.

This summer will definitely become cooler with Wabi~ For exterior application, Sabi is avaialble.

Wara Straw in Juraku Wall

Let the mystery of Wara and Juraku be solved today. Wara basically means natural straw from rice stalks, wheat and grains. Having a long history of rice culture, there is an abundance of straw which are easily accessible to use product of nature into building products which is environmental friendly.

Juraku basically refers to earthy colors -dak yellow or brownish color with black spots or straw (wara). Juraku derives from Juraku-Dai Castle in Kyoto which was built in the 16th century by Hideyoshi Toyotomi, one of the most remarkable men and unifiers of pre-modern Japan. Juraku-Dai is very gorgeous like palace and had many tea ceremony rooms.

Juraku wall is applied by trowel.
